Your Privacy Matters: DreamWake takes your privacy seriously. All stored dream content is encrypted at rest using AES-256. Voice recordings are processed for transcription and immediately deleted from our servers.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Dream Content (Encrypted)
When you record a dream, we collect:
- Audio recordings: Temporarily processed for transcription, then deleted from our servers
- Transcripts: Encrypted at rest with AES-256
- Notes: Encrypted at rest with AES-256
- Tags: AI-generated categories (not encrypted, used for filtering)
- Metadata: Recording date, duration, lucidity status, clarity rating
1.2 Account Information
- Anonymous ID: A randomly generated identifier for your device
- Subscription status: Managed through Apple
1.3 Technical Data
- Device type and operating system version
- App version
- Crash reports (if you opt in)
2. How We Use Your Information
- Transcription: Audio is sent to our AI transcription provider for speech-to-text conversion, then immediately deleted
- Tag Generation: Transcripts are analyzed by AI to extract themes - this happens on our secure servers
- Storage: Encrypted dream content is stored in our secure database
- Subscription: We verify your subscription status to provide premium features
3. Data Security
Encryption at Rest: Dream transcripts and notes are encrypted at rest in our database using AES-256.

- Encrypted fields: transcript, notes
- Transport: All data transmitted via HTTPS/TLS 1.3
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share data only with:
- AI processing provider: For transcription and tagging (audio deleted after processing)
- Subscription management provider: For managing your subscription
- Apple: For in-app purchases
5. Data Retention
- Dream data: Stored until you delete it or your account
- Audio files: Deleted immediately after transcription
- Account data: Retained while your account is active
6. Your Rights
You can:
- Delete individual dreams at any time
- Delete all your data from Settings
- Export your data (contact support)
- Request account deletion (contact support)
7. Children's Privacy
DreamWake is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Significant changes will be notified in-app.
